black links

The holygrail for getting traffic on search engines are backlinks. Aaahhh yes linkbacks or backlinks, both terms serve important purpose if you want a boost in your blog traffic. The more expensive but short-term method is of course traffic via pay-per-click like AdWords, but if you’re on a shoestring budget, well this is not a viable option

It took me a long time to understand the very mechanics how web traffic building works. Well I still am learning of course, but a sure short method is sending my articles to article directories. So far it has been going well so far as search engines picked up my article links via the directories

Of course you need to post a related entry in the related category of the directory. Also another tip is to link back to your blog with suitable anchor word related to your website. I usually insert one my blog meta keywords into the article I wrote if I’m out of ideas

The beauty about writing to article directories is that it is free. Compared to pay-per-click, it won’t cost you anything although the downside it will take time for the bots to pickup your link. Well slowly but surely of course right

By doing so, over time, your organic link from the articles and the anchor word tip I mentioned earlier will get you closer to the number page of search engine results page

I usually keep a log on a excel spreadsheet of anchor word list and articles I’ve done so far to monitor my progress. I think I’ve wrote more than 100 such articles for over 10 blogs of mine. So that’s about 3 articles per month so far these 3 years, being added to 8 or more article directories

So if I were do the calculation (100×8=800), I have 800 organic links now. That’s not counting the number of users who replicated my articles on their blog. My last tip is never ever do a link exchange. It devalues your blog authority as search engines prefer a one way link back to your site. Google looks at the relevancy of your site mentioned on other blogs, remember that

using bum marketing

People use bum marketing (or article marketing) for various reasons. Some of them use it to bring traffic to their website, which they monetize through adsense. Some of them use it to drive traffic to the site which they plan to sell soon (flipping websites). Some use it to advertise products from clickbank or from other affiliate networks.

I have tried bum marketing in various niche markets like gizmos, electronics, apparels, ebooks, softwares, medical products, and many others as well.

But bum marketing has worked best for me on the medical products. Specially those medical products, about which, people don’t prefer to discuss with their family/friends. For these type of products, they do their research online. Bum marketing at ezinearticles.com or other similar places are good places to present the product reviews for people to tell them which product actually works and which does not. If you are actually helping them in decision making, you will also make the money.

adengage

AdEngage was founded in May 2004. AdEngage serves as the link between publishers who want to sell ad space on their websites and advertisers who want to purchase ads on these websites.
I tried to give them a try. In this
AdEngage review, I am going to review it by my traditional reviewing template.
Payments
AdEngage accepts both credit card and PayPal. The fact that they accept PayPal made me want to join them.
Quality of service
Well there is nothing to talk about it here, it’s all automated. You buy the ad (flat rate or per click) and after publisher reviews it the link goes live.
Support
The support is top notch. I had a problem with an ad yesterday. I didn’t see the ad displayed so I emailed them using their contact form. I have received back a screen-shot with my ad showing, circled so I see and the support agent even told me that they will issue me a full refund if I’m not happy with the ad (even though half of the period my ad should be displayed passed).
Overall, I recommend using AdEngage. I have had NO problem with them.

Optimization Tips for adsence

Use Text Ads instead of Image Ads as users get more options. If you still want to display image ads, consider ad formats that support image ads - Choose either the 300×250 medium rectangle or the 160×600 wide skyscraper - or both, if you display multiple ad units on a page.
Google Ads without background color and borders always perform better. Make the border color and background color same as your page background color.
Always put ads above the main fold. Make sure that the ad unit with the highest clickthrough rate is the first instance of the ad code that appears in the HTML. Since the first ad unit is always filled before the rest, you want to make sure that ad unit is located in the best placement on your page.
Try setting the ad link URL color to a lighter shade. If your text is black, you may make the adlink as light gray.

Go Wide - The large rectangle is the best paying adsense format (336×280) - The Google Adsense Publisher team also feels that the best formats are the wider ones - the ad formats that contain the widest individual ads. Try using the 336×280 large rectangle, 300×250 medium rectangle, or 160×600 wide skyscraper.
. Placing images next to ads or above ads does help in attracting user attention.
Blend AdLinks with other navigation links or place horizontal adlinks at the top of your webpage. AdSense publishers are permitted to click on link unit topics on their web pages, provided that they do not click on any Google ads on the resulting page.
You can put upto 3 adsense units on a page. Try putting a large skyscraper on the right navigation sidebar of your website. That area is close to the browser scrollbar. You can also add 2 AdSense for search boxes, 3 adlink units.
The first few lines of your content are an important factor for determining what Ads are served on your webpage. That’s the right place to put keywords in bold (strong or &ltb> tags) or header tags (h1, h2, etc).

Annoying Big Banner Ads

These are not new they are whit us since the 90’s. However, they quickly reached a saturation point, and the users almost became “immune” at they, “mentally filter them” when browsing web pages. But the worse was still to come, in the attempt to fight this “blindness of the announcements” advertisers did the worse that they could done – they made banners more difficult to ignore by making them more irritating and intrusive. Instead of being a simple static image of 468×60, they became alive, the use of Flash or Java to be “interactive” (Punch the Monkey and win!), whit irritating sounds, or worse, to appear in new windows - the bad and ugly “popups” that, until appearing browsers as the NetCaptor, Mozilla, Firefox and more recent versions of Opera, they were a nightmare for anybody that surfed the Internet. But the advertisers greedy didn’t end there, when noticing that the people was starting to be accustomed to close windows of popup without at least looking, they continued to create forms to force the people to see the announcements, inventing such horrors as the “popunders” (popups that they appear under the current window, and there they stay until the window is closed), announcements of an entire page, “not closable popups”, popups that, when closed, make appear new popups. And then they wore surprised that gradually the advertising had fewer results, and less money. With Google and AdSense things surprising started to improve for the advertiser and for the normal user. This was because Google made the unthinkable (at the time) making the announcements less intrusive, instead of more.In steed of live full screen windows with sound, that resist to be closed, the AdSense announcements wore, in its majority, text. Thanks to the data in its search engine, the announcements are contextual, related with the page or site in question. The formats and colours of the announcements are configured by the owner of the site, to better integrate the same, or, in alternative, to call the attention all determined by the owner the site, not by the advertiser.imagine the result, the advertisers had made a ton of money, the owners of sites had made immense money, and Google made K’s of money, and, more important, the announcements in sites had come back to be bearable. Many that absolutely hate announcements start to click in some, and the owners of the sites that had given up to have announcements, because these annoyed the users and made them not want to return, they wore back having a form to gain some money with the sites.Yahoo and Microsoft seem to be following the steps of Google, since both are at this moment starting to use non intrusive and based contextual announcements in text.

Blog Counter

Since it ad passed one day after the “great creation” of my Blog. I decided to add a blogcounter button to my blog, just to count the millions of persons rushing to be the first to see my blog, after all it was my first one. After almost melting my brain with the HTML code for the button (thanks to the nice people of blogcounter.com it didn’t melt), I was ready to go watch the blog traffic.Made my login and for my surprise there was 5, it must have been a mistake or probably the 5 means 5 millions and I didn’t see it in the FAQ. I decided to send a text message to a friend asking him for help, his answer was “you need PUB” and as always he was right, I definitively need a drink.

For years, I never realized that Blogger.com allows their uses to modify and or add meta tags into their blogs. Meta Tags are very important because most search engines uses meta tags as a basis on how they index your home page as well as your individual post pages.

Adding meta tags into your Blogger.com blog will really step things up for you and help increase traffic. Let me explain further with a few screen shots pulled from Google.

This is how Google has indexed their own Official Google Blog home page.

Lets look at some key elements in this listing:

The Meta Title Tag is easy to modify. This is the actual title of your blog. View screen shot:

See how the title of Official Google Blog matches exactly what appears in the search engines? You can change your title of your blog to include certain keywords that you want to target in the search engines.

Lets look at the description next. On the first screen shot you can see that Google has indexed their own Official Google Blog and has a pretty crappy description. On the next line in your Blogger.com dashboard you will see the option titled description. Logically, you would think what ever you type there is what would also appear in the SERP's as well.

This is NOT the case. This field does NOT write the proper tag to show search engines what your site description is. And that is the reason why 95% of all Blogger.com bloggers get terrible results in the SERP's. The trick I want to show you is adding your own Meta Tags into your Blogger.com blog. Here is how.

Adding Meta Tags To Blogger.com

In your blogger.com dashboard, navigate to your Template / Edit HTML tab and add the following code directly below the tag:

You can use my entry as an example:

Here is a screen shot example:

So, eventually when Google does index my site the listing on my home page should appear as follows:

Garry Conn dot Blogspot dot Com
Successful blogging tips by Blogger.com bloggers provided by Garry Conn.
garryconn.blogspot.com/ May 17th, 2007

I am choosing to target my own name rather than any other keyword. If I wanted to totally market the words, "Successful Blogging Tips", I would name my site title that.

Now this doesn't really help too much in the individual post pages, but it does help a lot if your blog is focused on one primary topic. Meaning if you talk about dog grooming and nothing but dog grooming and your meta description explains that your site is about dog grooming, your individual post pages will maintain a level of relevancy based on your site's title, meta description and keywords. The end result is your will not have individual posts pages that appear like this:

The end result is your individual posts pages should appear just like your home page appears, but will pull up better under the keywords you have chosen to target.

What is a tag?

Tags are used to classify and identify an item. The difference in a typical directory classification though, is that tags are user-created, meaning YOU decide who gets grouped in whichever way suits you. You might 'tag' MyBlogLog as cool, social, blogs and friends. Or, you might tag it something less flattering.

how to get traffic

Who doesn't like something for free? Not me! I love free stuff and ProjectWonderful is a neat place to get free traffic. You like free traffic, right? If so then read on.It's unlikely that you will make any decent money off PW, so lets forget about that to begin with. The goal here is to get your content in front of new readers who you hope to convert into regular readers.First have at least 30 decent, original posts before you sign up. If you haven't got that by now, it's time to hang up your keyboard. Apply for an account and wait for them to review your account.Once approved create an adbox and put it beside your EntreCard widget. Don't make it too big or you will clutter your site, make it slow to load and reduce bidding competition. You want to create a scarcity of ad space on your site so that advertisers need to pay a decent amount to put their advert on your site. Now here comes the two ways to get free traffic. PW, you will receive visits by people who are coming to . It's free and without effort to you. Secondly you plow any money earned through advertising back into a campaign. I choose sites with 100+ visits per day, have "entrecard" as a tag and at least 20% US originated traffic.I don't really care where the ads go as I don't expect to make money from PW. It's just credit in for the ads on my site and then credit out for further advertising. This method is similar to using Spott, but you have much more control over where your ad is shown.

How to suggest a site to the Open Directory

The Open Directory Project is a web directory of Internet resources. A web directory is something akin to a huge reference library. The directory is hierarchically arranged by subject - from broad to specific. The ODP is maintained by community editors who evaluate sites for inclusion in the directory. They are our experts, and all submissions are subject to editor evaluation.
We care a great deal about the quality of the ODP. We aren't a search engine and pride ourselves on being highly selective. We don't accept all sites, so please don't take it personally should your site not be accepted. Our goal is to make the directory as useful as possible for our users, not to have the directory include all (or even most) of the sites that could possibly be listed or serve as a promotional tool for the entities listed.
To keep the ODP running smoothly and to assist us in exercising our editorial discretion, we have set up policies for submitting sites for our consideration. We may reject, delete, or edit submissions that violate these policies or that we otherwise believe, in our sole discretion, should not be included in the directory. We may also reject, delete, or block other sites that we believe to be associated with a user who has violated these policies.
You should take a few moments to understand these policies and the steps to submit a site before you begin. Failure to understand and follow these instructions generally will result in the rejection of a submission.

AdSense CPCCPC

AdSense CPCCPC (cost-per-click) advertisement is a kind of program that Google uses for its AdSense software. It is a program very much in demand among companies who want to advertise their products online. AdSense CPC programs are currently the largest pay-per-click connection, largely due to the top position being enjoyed by Google at present. However, the success of AdSense CPC cannot be solely attributed to Google's enormous popularity. It is actually the Adsense system currently in place and being applied to its CPC ads that proves to be the main factor in attracting consumers to seek CPC advertisements. The primary feature of AdSense CPC advertisements is its ads selection process. Advertisements seeking to be distributed and posted on the AdSense website are filtered and screened based on keyword relevance. With such stringent measures involved, the CPC ads program has definitely earned a solid reputation in the online advertising world. There are several requirements that companies need to meet before their ads can be posted on the Adsense webite. Basically, the ads should have content commonality with the website before they can be given permission to get posted. The logic behind this is that most net surfers only visit the sites that they find to be interesting. It is thus imperative that a given advertisement has content relevance to the website so that online visitors will get to notice it and eventually click on it.Aside from content relevance, another good feature of AdSense CPC is that it allows web owners to choose the designs of the ads that would fit perfectly to their own websites. CPC ads also allow Adsense clients to perform regular monitoring of their records, a feature highly recommended by many AdSense subscribers because it indicates how transparent AdSense is in dealing with subscribers' revenues.

adsence tips

The foremost objective of any AdSense client is to maximize his earnings as a web publisher. However, this task is not an easy one, especially for the new breed of businessmen - the internet has become an increasingly competitive marketplace. Our site focuses on AdSense tips that can actually boost the revenue of any AdSense client's business. Though they may seem obvious to some, these fundamental tips are the keys to your success.First, it is important to research your targeted keywords (if you have no idea what we're talking about, you may want to start at this site). Sneak a peek at the most popular keywords online, how frequently they are searched, and what type of competition each has. Next, and likely most important - pay attention to your content. Too frequently, new web publishers are so keen to publish their Adsense websites and 'get rich quick' that they forget the most important aspect of their website - the subject material itself. While it may seem like a good idea at the time, sites with no useable content will not attract any surfers, let alone entice them to click on your ads.
The third AdSense tip is all about the perfect format. The better earners are placed in well thought out locations, setup in a format that outperforms other ads, and makes use of color tones that are attention-grabbers. You just need to figure out which is the most suitable to your requirements. This will come with trial and error, along with experience. Then, there's the statistical report. Like in most businesses, feedback is the guiding light to help you see whether you are trudging the right track or not. It is wise to always be on the lookout for the effects of your commercial moves and see which ones work. The best performers in all those four aspects will naturally generate better revenues.

web traffic tips 4

Reciprocal Linking
Reciprocal linking is a great way to get traffic and better search engine rankings.

Reciprocal linking is where you find another site that has been built around a similar topic as yours and you contact the site owner or webmaster and ask them if they would like to put a link to your site in exchange for a link to theirs.

There are also link exchange services and directories that will help you find similar websites that are willing to exchange links with you. Just do a search for "link exchange" and you
will find several.

Not only can this help your ranking in the search engines it will also give your site more exposure from people that visit the other website that you are linked to.

web traffic tips 3

Let's talk about video sharing.Video sharing is wildly popular and you can use itto get a flood of targeted traffic to your website.Do this by creating a short introduction or how to video andposting it in a social video sharing site like YouTube. Providea few references to your site with your URL of course. When you post your video be sure to use a catchy title, teasing description, and appropriate tags to make it easy forothers to find. Then copy the code that video site providesyou with and embed the link to your video on your site. This will save your bandwidth and storage space because thevideo will be hosted on the video sharing site that you areusing.Another benefit of using a video sharing site is that theyprovide a "Send to Friend" feature for your video. This featureis a link that allows others to share your video with a friendor hopefully more.

Advertising Your Site
Advertising your site is another great way to get
more traffic.

We have talked about buying links, now it's time to think about
buying advertising space. To do this look for websites on a
similar topic as yours.

Once you find a good site that is related to but not in
competition with yours take a look around and see if they sell
advertising space. If you can't find a link that let's you know
what their rates are then just email the owner and ask if they
would be interested in selling or even trading some advertising
space to you.

After you have worked out all of the details you can put a text
ad or banner with a link back to your site.

adsence tricks

Ads can work well in-between other stuff. On a games site of mine, some of the games don't contain ads next to the game area; the AdSense ad will only be shown in-between game rounds. This is the time the visitor is not concentrating on performing a task but might take a small break, and be open to the option of visiting new sites.
Put too much emphasis on AdSense and your site may be linked to less. The more available space you dedicate to AdSense on your site, and the less you differentiate between ads and content in your design, the more money you earn with the program, right? Not quite. While pushing the AdSense may result in short-term gains, it might also convince some visitors that the site is too crowded to be worth visiting again. And some of those visitors may also be bloggers or other people who might otherwise help to promote your site with links to it. And the less your site gets linked to, the less traffic it gets, meaning AdSense revenues may go down in the long term.
Even if you get huge traffic, the AdSense income from the site is more dependent on the site type and audience. Google targets AdSense ads automatically to the site content. Or at least, it does so ideally – but some types of content fare better than others with this targeting. I noticed for instance that AdSense does better on a games site than on a technology blog. I also heard people say that AdSense does quite good on product oriented blogs; say, one post solely about the iPod; another post solely about Gadget XYZ, and so on.
Image ads can be relevant and work for you, but they might also apall some visitors. Google's AdSense program gives you the option to choose between a couple of different ad formats. Two main groups are text ads vs text & image ads. When you choose the latter, Google will deliver what they deem works best for your content (or so one would hope, and it would be in Google's best self-interest to serve you the best possible ad, it seems). However, Google doesn't really know your layout preferences, and they don't really understand when your audience thinks ads are "too much"; and considering image ads include Flash animations (which you can't disable, once you go for image ads), Flash animations may well push some people away. One thing you can do is to only show image ads in areas where they don't disturb the content, e.g. at the end of posts. Also, you might want to listen to visitor feedback on the ads being served; I received emails before that the blinking ad on this or that site made a person want to leave the site, at which point I blocked the specific advertiser via the AdSense Setup -> Competitive Ad Filter option.
When it comes to context sensitive targeting, you can increase or lower the importance of certain parts of your page. To help Google find a matching ad for your content, you can use the HTML comment syntax by encapsulating more important parts with
... your important site content here ...
.Or, to lower the importance of a section, use:
... your not so important site content here ...
(Google notes that it may take up to 2 weeks for this change to your site will be taken into account by the AdSense.)What if your site doesn't have any good matchable content to begin with, though? Say, the page just includes an image. Well, for the reasons of search engine optimization but also ad optimization you might want to consider using at least a descriptive title, an explanatory footer containing the important keywords or keyphrases (the kind of footer that actually helps the human visitor by explaining what the page is about). In the case of image content, reasonable alt and title attribute texts should be used as well.**Whatever you do, don't resort to "keyword-stuffing" as it doesn't help your visitors and may get your page ranked lower in search engines.
Be aware of risks when you change ad layouts too much. I once had a system on the server to randomly differ between various AdSense layouts on the same page. Doing so I was hoping to add some good variety to keep the ads at least somewhat interesting and notable. Shortly after I stopped doing so and simply included a rather big static area for the AdSense to "do what it wants," the AdSense revenues for that site increased. Now, I don't know if this was a coincidence of some sorts, as revenues often go down or up even when you don't do anything, but it might well have been that there was a connection between adding too much homemade randomization, and lowered revenues. At another time, during the redesign of this blog, I switched from one ad format to another for the end-of-posts AdSense ad space. This, combined with perhaps other layout changes, suddenly cut the ad revenues in half for the blog. It took me some time to realize that I had some ad channels* set up for the specific old layout size, and by changing this I must have kicked out all those advertisers who were pushing their ads through the channel.*This setting can be found at AdSense Setup -> Channels.
Use competing ad systems when AdSense doesn't seem to work for a site. At CoverBrowser.com, which shows galleries of comic and book covers and so on, I tried including AdSense ads in "non-annoying" places in the layout (including trying to use AdSense affiliate links via AdSense Setup -> Referrals), but this didn't seem to work at all. However I then tried "affiliating" the "buy" link below individual covers, utilizing the eBay affiliate commission system offered by AuctionAds.com*. (Disclosure: Patrick Gavin, co-owner of AuctionAds, paid me for consulting before on other projects, like Sketchcast.com.) This worked a lot better, and as it was simply connected to an existing site feature, it also didn't add clutter.

puchasing google adsence website

Purchasing an Adsense ready website is a good idea, especially if you don't know much about web development, but there are a few things to take care of. There are basically two types of Adsense ready websites – the duplicate content websites which get sold over and over and custom-made, original Adsense ready websites. Let's have a look at both of them:“Recycled” Google Adsense ready website – let's call them recycled because they get used over and over and over… You can purchase 10, 50 or 150 websites, each with hundreds of pages, for less than $100! Of course, these websites get sold, in their exact same form, to hundreds or thousands of other people. However, what you lose in search engine rankings you make up in structure and content quality. And with a few dozen Google Adsense ready websites like these, you only need to handle some high quality link exchanges, or get visitors on your sites through the other program offered by Google to advertisers – Adwords.Unique content Adsense ready websites are the other option. You will most likely pay a few hundred dollars for a unique website with 15-25 pages of original content. Instead of a hundred duplicate content websites you will have just one original website. It's hard to say which option will allow you to earn more from your online business, but it's clear that your unique content website will outrank duplicate content in the search engines. An original Adsense ready website offers a more stable income level, and you can grow it into a top ranking site in time. Your online earning will depend on numerous factors, but one thing is for sure – the search engines will love your site for bringing new content to the Internet and will reward you by ranking it higher. Here are some tips on generating fresh content for your website: 1. How to get good Adsense content? You can either write your own content or pay someone else to write it. If your Adsense content is on a topic you like, try to write it yourself. If you have a website on rocket engineering and you are a philosophy major, maybe you'll want to get a copywriter or ghostwriter to do the writing, for a fee.2. How long should the Adsense content be for one web page? There are no limits as far as length is concerned. Create an article or content that covers the chosen topic. Most web masters using Google Adsense prefer to have a minimum of 250 words for each new page. Others claim that Google favors web pages with over 1,000 words of unique content. The general rule, however, is that if the visitors like your Google Adsense content, so do the search engines.3. What keyword density should I use to rank high on Google? Again, there are no strict rules. Successful publishers use the main web page keyword at least four or five times. The web page title should also include the keyword. High quality Google Adsense content doesn't look like a string of keywords – it manages to blend in the keyword nicely, so that human visitors read a relevant and well planned text.4. How many pages should my Adsense ready website have? The more unique content you have, the better your site will rank. Unique Google Adsense content, however, is hard to obtain at “industrial levels”.5. How much does it cost to get original content for my Adsense website? A good copywriter might charge $15 for a 400-word article. You can also use different outsourcing companies and freelancing sites to look for cheaper alternatives. Outsourcing your writing job might save you 50% of the costs. However, make sure the quality of the Adsense content you purchase is high.

If you are planning to purchase a link back then remember this point, some websites have PR4, PR5 or even PR7 for their home page, but no PR for any of their other pages, So remember to pay for only that link which will be displayed on a PR+ page.
Submit to directories and sit relax. Start one by one and submit your link in all web directories. If you can, try to give a link back (reciprocal link on your page) to free directories, some directories does not need it, but if you provide them, their owners will look for your approval first.
Build a sitemap for your website (XML based for Google and text based for yahoo) and submit them to Google and yahoo. Get a Google webmaster account and sign in there to see your website statistics. It will also tell you if you site is indexed or not, and your page rank in Google.
Update your website every day by adding more unique content. If you site has some information for a visitor then it is 100% chance for him to come back to your site again.
Provide inside linking to your website. For example you can provide a link of your previous and next articles on an article page. Or you can provide a list of related articles so visitor can remains a long time on your website.
Keep in touch with your website. If you do, you will get results from your statistics analyzer very soon that you are getting visitors and your page rank is improved.
